CANNES 2015: Retrospective

A couple weeks ago, fifteen representatives from Apollo Studios travelled to Cannes to attend the 62nd edition of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Here’s a summary of a week that was both enriching and rewarding for our whole team.

Apollo Studios produced the music for the ‘The Groceries Not Guns’ web campaign for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, and were rewarded with two Silver Lions and one Gold Lion in the Cyber category. This was the first Gold Lion in this category ever awarded to a Canadian Company.

On the radio side, M&C Saatchi Genève earned a Bronze Lion for EPER-Entraide Protestante Suisse 'Doctors' campaign , which was produced in collaboration with the Apollo Studios Montreal.

As for the awards; 1One Productions was rewarded with a Bronze Lion for their great work on the Reviveaphone campaign; a campaign that also received the ‘Grand Prix Créa 2015’ last April. Thanks to Michael Mooney for being the face of this campaign and for also providing the music, which can be found on Apollo Music Store.

The Apollo Group stood out once again this year by organizing a number of great events, one of which was the closing party for Jonay Sosa's Ideas for Fuel project. Sosa arrived in Cannes on June 24th in his minivan and was greeted by many of the friends he met along the way of his year long journey. During this time, the Madrid native copywriter had the chance to work in over 20 advertising agencies around Europe and was paid only in diesel fuel, which he charged 10 litres per hour. Check out the video below for more on Sosa’s amazing journey.

Finally, we know it’s a little early but we’re already making our rosé arrangements for next year. So be sure to come on down to Apollo Studios Loft 501 (24 Boulevard de la Croisette) in June 2016.

Thank you.
